A Heavy

I'm also doing Production Design on a film for my uni course, been having great fun drawing the characters. Here's some preliminary sketches for a typical "heavy" character.

A Fox

If there's anyone out there I apologise for the extreme sporadity of my posting! I'm super busy at the moment and I just never get round to scanning anything.

Here's a treat, I'm doing some animation for a friend's short film - basically needs opening title credits that feature an animated fox! Great challenging fun. Here's some preliminary sketches.

There are an estimated 10,000 foxes living in London, I love every rabid one of them!

The Wellcome Collection

I ended up at the Wellcome Collection off Euston tube station the other day. I was around the area and saw it was free so I popped in. It was really interesting and I did a lot of drawing, they had a great collection of archeological skeletons so I did some sketches of bones and skulls. They also had a cabinet of old artifical limbs that was really cool, crazy steampunk style stuff (except real). I'll try and get some scans uploaded sharpish.

Photography. Thailand 1

About a year a go I lived in Thailand for about 3 and a half months - a mix of volunteer work, living in a buddhist temple and just general chilling and seeing the sights. As a result I took a lot of photos.

This photo was taken right at the start of my stay and is of chinatown in Bangkok (or Krung Thep if you aren't a farang!).

Observational 3. Tim

Observational sketch of my friend Tim done from a photo I took at a party (he is going for some crisps!). Next to it is my failed attempt at colouring the sketch in photoshop. Thought I'd include it anyway - skin tones really get me just can't get em decent (and don't get me started on the hair...). I'll keep practicing!

Observational 2. Alex playing Piano

A sketch of my friend and flatmate Alex playing the piano - pretty pleased with it (especially as it was drawn from life).

sock creature!

Sock doll thing I made for a friend a while back. Sewing is not my forte, but still pleased with the results. It's got a certain charm to it I think :)

Observational 2. Another Monk

This is an observational drawing I did from a photo on flickr. Pencil, with ink.

Observation from magazine photo

Ninja Monkey doodle!

This is a novice monk called Jo, on the right is a photo I took of him (looking very bored) when I was staying in a monastery in Thailand. On the left is an observational sketch I did from the photo and in the middle I added some colour to the robes with photoshop. The middle images marks one of my first attempts at using photoshop, fairly pleased with it although I simply couldn't get the skin tones right, hence it being just the clothes.
